Mr. Badir is an engineer with over 30 years of experience in maintenance technology, industrial
engineering,and operations research. In the last ten years, Sam has worked around the world with
numerous organizations, including the metal processing industry, packaging, pharmaceuticals,
construction, battery manufacturing, and oil exploration and production, assisting them in their
maintenance and Total Reliability improvements.
Sam has worked in the steel and aluminum industries in the US and Canada holding such positions as
operations manager, maintenance superintendent, TPM project leader, production control manager and
operation research analyst. As Maintenance Superintendent, his key responsibility was in the areas of
maintenance planning & scheduling, preventive and predictive maintenance. He has also managed
several fleets in his career. While working as a TPM project leader and maintenance superintendent at
a major Canadian steel organization, Mr. Badir developed and improved the maintenance planning
function, managed the implementation of Total Process Reliability, initiated and participated in small group improvement teams and continuous improvement and leadership programs. In addition, he
conducted studies and implemented solutions in areas such as cost reduction and productivity
improvement. He participated in union contract negotiations and was a member of joint management
and union committee.
Recently, Sam was responsible for implementing maintenance improvement efforts at two major oil
and gas companies in countries in middle and Far East. He was also responsible for managing the
implementation of a multi-million dollar Equipment Reliability improvement project in the Middle East, in
addition to the full implementation of a planning and scheduling system in the Far East. In addition, Sam
has worked with the top two beverage companies in the US, implementing improvement initiatives in
some of their overseas operations in Singapore and the Middle East. Mr. Badir holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering and a Master of Applied Science in Operation
Research from the University of Waterloo in Canada.
